Lightweight Ballet Neck Sweater - a handknitting pattern
knitmodernThis is a hand knitting pattern for a lightweight ballet neck sweater. When Fall is coming in wouldn't it be nice to have something as comfortable as your favourite tee but just that little bit warmer? The open neckline was inspired by the fashion in the early Downton Abbey series, and it is easy to accessorize with a scarf or jewellery. The vintage quality details at the neckline and the hems let it pair as well with skirts as it does with jeans.
The sweater is knit from the top down, starting with a fine i-cord neckline and finishing with flexible no-roll hems, which are made by knitting a turned hem off of an i-cord edging. An alternate ribbed hem and neckline are provided for beginners … and any knitter looking for a quick start & finish.
The wine coloured sweater is knit in Berroco Ultra Alpaca Fine. It has a very nice drape and holds up beautifully with wear with minimal pilling. A 100% merino wool will give a make for a supersoft sweater, in return for the extra care. Pattern is for sizes 30 - 50"
Sizes: (30, 32, 34) 36, 38,40 [42, 44, 46] 48, 50" or (76, 81, 86) 91, 97,102 [107, 112, 117] 122,127cm
